The food here is amazing always a great experience and the view is gorgeous right on the lake! There’s something for everyone here. With patio season being on the rise right now I would highly recommend going by Crawford’s!
Excellent service, and the fish and chips Special was actual fish, great coleslaw, and the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla bean ice cream was outstanding. A must stop in Port Hope. The patio looks so inviting and overlooks the lake and the river. Definitely recommend.
What a rip off. Ordered a burger with side salad and they charged $5 for that upgrade from fries. no free pop refills $3 each! I think these are new owners. Hardly anyone in the place and it took forever for our food!
Great place to relax and have a lunch or dinner by the lake...great food at a good price.
Randomly found this spot while exploring Port Hope, it is definitely a hidden gem. The owner, and staff are extremely lovely and friendly. Perfect little patio date spot, I will be coming back!
Service is very slow.
Love this Cafe, Pino and his son were amazing and so was the food n drinks! Great view and we will be back!
First of all service was great. The server was quite lovely and friendly. She is the only reason why this restaurant is getting 2 stars from me. The food was bad. Very bad. Very pricey and small portions. The fish and chips cost $20 and was a small piece of fish and a handful of fries. The fries were fresh cut, but the oil was old and the batter was bland. We also ordered the 125 burger and Crawford Burger. There was no way it was an all beef burger. It was kind of light in color and I'm certain it was made of pork or at the very least contained pork. It had a freezer burn taste as well. The quality of food has gone way down. Needless to say, this will be our last time there.
Nice patio facing the lake. We enjoyed the burger and fries
Very bad service and way to expensive more than 45min wait for 2 pancakes and eggs
This is the best place in all of Southern Ontario for fish & chips! The best!
Absolutely awful service, of you could even call it that. The coffee is very difficult to acquire and I had to get it myself because the server was neglecting the only customer in the restaurant.Really dislike as well that they managed to get rid of my previous review. This place is terrible.
Over priced for a cheap wagon style food..3 bucks plus tax for a small can of coke. 20 bucks for one small slice of fish. And the owner said it's on "special" . What if it's not on special?
Amazing ambience, lake side view, one of the best veg burgers I had in canada, worth going
If I could give this place a zero I would. We were out of town visitors and purchased 2 icecreams today from this place. We were charged a different price than what was showing on the chalkboard. When asked about the price the owner was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Did not give us our change back saying that it even cost more than what we gave him. While we were across the street from the icecream shop the owner proceeded to give us the middle finger. In front of other customers. Will never recommend this place!
Our male waiter was the worst ever! Argumentative and rude. Insisted on 18% gratuity because we had 6 at the table. He wasn’t worth ANY tip and that’s exactly what he got!! Was even told a Caesar salad does not have croutons. Caesar salad, Caesar drink and a craft bottle beer. $50. Don’t waste your time or money!
Fantastic service and food, fresh and delicious. A hidden gem by the lake.
Prices are never consistent. Drink prices seem to be made up on the fly and double everywhere else. Terrible service.
Absolutely THE BEST veggie burger we've ever had. Seriously delicious. We ended up ordering seconds. The crab cake was also top tier. If you are in town looking for a veggie option, you owe yourself this veggie burger. Holy smokes.
I read the reviews before visiting this place. They were not the greatest but we wanted to visit this place for ourselves. We heard about this cafe through the Port Hope group and decided to check it out. First and last time I will ever go to this place. We ordered 2 beers on the patio. $17 dollars for 2 bottles of beer. Debit machine didn't work, no atm to withdraw money and 1 of the beers was 2 months expired. We informed the server that we would have to come back to pay and would likely be awhile, as we walked there with out 7 week old. He clearly didn't believe that we would come back and made us leave our ID. Complete lack of respect for your customers and shows the true colors of this business. Making someone go into downtown to a bank machine to pay for expired beer is out of the ordinary for me. Enjoy the beautiful view of the Uranium plant while you enjoy expensive expired beer on the patio.
Super disappointed. Went here simply for coffee, got a cappuccino, left paying $9 plus hst and tip. And the cappuccino was a monstrous size which is bigger than any soup I’ve ever eaten. And the worst part, the coffee was made with water and not milk! Super gross topped off with a tablespoon of cinnamon. One of the worst drinks I’ve ever had. Then went inside to pay and the owner was on the other side of the counter, within 2 metres of the till and not wearing a mask. Only saving grace was a kind waitress. Otherwise, this is a place trying to rip people off. Oh, and my receipt didn’t say “cappuccino” it said “open food charge” which has me suspicious that they have no set prices on their drinks.
18 dollars for 2 coffees! Coffee was not even good. The manager added some cinnamon without asking. When saying it was quite expensive, the manager said taxes were included. Taxes are not 50%..If you want a coffee, don't stop there
Really expensive- 3 scoops of ice cream and a grilled vegatble sandwich with fries came out to $30 + tip. Order took about 40 minutes for the take out to be made from when the order was placed to when it was ready for pick up (was standing outside waiting). Seems like hes taking advantage of being the only restaurant on the beach. A lot of food for the portion but also very expensive. The grilled vegatable sandwiche smelled like a fish sandwich...i think they used the oil for fish and chips for the veggies. A dissapointment.A bottle of water and a latte came to 10.50 + tip
Food was very tasty But we were ripped off with the prices of the drinks for over 20$ for two light beers ! Not given drinks menu so we couldn’t complain but that is excessive really
Good for a quick meal
Unfortunately if I could no star this establishment I would. I was a absolutely baffled by the customer service. The employee serving us was yelling at customers for no apparent reason. They were busy, but that's no way to treat your customers. I'm a local from the area and definitely will not be returning, nor will my peers.
We definitely got a more than pleasant stay at this restaurant.Breakfast was very large and generous, served with attention and dedication.Prime quality ingredients, no doubt. The lady in charge (blond) was super nice and took great care of us.Location is super clean (A Star) with nice and large table inside and lovely patio outside.I would recommend the visit without any doubts as we had great time.
I really enjoyed eating here. The food was great and the service was really enthusiastic.
Decent food, but waaaay too expensive and it takes forever for a take-out order to be done 😭
Stopped in for lunch cause the highway was closed. So glad we did. Food was good and the service was very friendly. Nice lakeside location.
Great views of waterfront. Friendly service. Delicious food & generous portions. Great decor & clean. Family friendly. Lots of variety, twists on classic dishes, awesome breakfast, and daily specials.
Not a bad place if you're looking to drop $90. + tip for a mediocre lunch for 2 with a couple of drinks near the lake in Port Hope. Two supposed Philly Steak sandwiches with fries. At 11:30 am Saturday the fries looked as if they'd been around at least since Friday and refried a few times but at least they seemed to have come from real potatoes. The cafe performed a miracle on the 'steak' sandwiches which normally have at least beef in them, if not actually steak. In ours the few scraps of meat had the exact colour, texture and flavour of pork. When asked, the waiter insisted it was beef. Ha ha. Wasn't born yesterday, kid. In no rush to go back.
One of the Stuff have a really bad attitude issue.
Lovely place with with a friendly owner. Enjoyed the experience, food, and the view.
Great atmosphere and amazing view. The food and ice cream are delicious. Definitely recommend.
Breakfast, July 2019. Again I say, "breakfast". $60 I went to washroom and my wife paid. As we left, she told me it cost $60. We were already heading back to Toronto. SIXTY dollars for BREAKFAST? Now I know it wasn't a cheap place. My meal was 15.99 and suspect my wife's was approx the same, maybe a dollar more. Plus they charged extra for the coffee. Plus $$$ for cheese, she told me 3 or 4 $$ for cheese on each of our meals, and $4 for coffee's - terrible coffee. I had been to this place about 4 years prior and I liked it. BUT NOT EVER AGAIN FOR $60 (SIXTY) dollars.
Way overpriced for the quality that is served. Asked for an avocado as a replacement for bacon on the $14 cesar salad. It was clearly off with multiple black spots. Bill showed a +$4 for it. Fish and chips special was $20 for one piece of fish and mediocre fries. The ketchup tasted like sugar mixed with a bit of tomato and vinegar. Better to skip the view of the water and eat in town.
Quiet spot by the lake. Great views.
Nice clean wonderfully decorated place to eat. Great views of the waterfront. Service was fantastic, and we were taken care of. Food was good, but a little too pricey for what you get. Have received more for less elswhere.
Wonderful Breakfast had Eggs Benedict it was delicious. Great food and service well worth the visit
This is a nice little lakefront breakfast/lunch café with a patio. The food was tasty and the staff are very friendly.
Wont go ever again! We went there for breakfast & there was a piece of plastic wrap mixed in with the scrambled eggs. Showed it to waitress...no apologies, certainly no discount offered....not even a free horrible tasting cold coffee. Just an expensive bill none the less. Grossly over priced. Cook/owner is very rude. Horrible experience. 1 star is being generous....dont think zero is an option.
What amazing service and food! The owner was so hands know making sure everything was just as he liked it. The chicken tenders are all white meat and the fish was so fresh! This is also the best sangria I've ever had.
Went for ice cream here. Prices were clearly marked $5 for a regular, yet we were charged $18 for three. When asked about the price, he told me it was actually $6 but he hadn't had time to change the CHALK SIGN. We will never return. This was very obviously a lie. The portions were also small. We'll take the drive out to The Curd Kings for Kawartha Dairy. Better customer services and portions.
Garbage service whit thé bills
Do not recommend this place! Recieved terrible service, staff was extremely rude and argumentative, even screamed at us and other guest's. Also extremely overpriced! If I could give no stars I would, the only decent thing about this place is it's proximity to the Port Hope beach.
very scenic view of the beach and nice food!!!
